Das Gebiet beginnt direkt an der spanischen Grenze und setzt sich auch im Nachbarland fort. Die h\u00f6chsten Berge des portugiesischen Festlands recken hier ihre schroffen Gipfel in den blauen Himmel (der Pico Ruivo auf Madeira bietet mit 1865m rund 300m mehr).<\/p>\n<p>Wir kurven uns \u00fcber steile und teilweise sehr enge Stra\u00dfen durch die wunderbare Bergwelt. Hin und wieder sonnen sich stattliche <strong>Barrosa-Rinder<\/strong> auf der Stra\u00dfe und wir sehen auch die hier heimische <strong>Garrano-Wildpferde<\/strong>. <strong>W\u00f6lfe<\/strong> soll es auch geben. Sie alle haben ein wundersch\u00f6nes Zuhause: gro\u00dfe Urw\u00e4lder (Prim\u00e4rwald) mit teilweise m\u00e4chtigen knorrigen Eichen, Maulbeerstr\u00e4uchern, Erdbeerb\u00e4umen\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Wir winden uns hinauf in das Bergdorf <strong>Pitoes das Junias<\/strong> auf 1120m H\u00f6he. Die umliegenden Gipfel bilden die imposante Kulisse des abgelegenen Ortes. Wir treffen auf zwei sehr alte Frauen mit von der Arbeit schwer gebeugtem R\u00fccken. Haben sie ihr ganzes Leben hier verbracht? Oder sind es gar Hexen? Etwa ein Viertel der aus Granitbl\u00f6cken errichteten H\u00e4user werden so bewohnt wie vor sch\u00e4tzungsweise 200 Jahren gebaut, wohl \u00fcberwiegend von alten Menschen. Ein weiteres Viertel der alten H\u00e4user wurde renoviert und mit Anbauten versehen. Daneben sehen wir einige neue H\u00e4user, zum Teil sehr gro\u00dfz\u00fcgig und aufw\u00e4ndig. Die Architektur ist an die traditionelle Bauweise angelehnt. Wer baut wohl so teuer in so einer abgelegenen Gegend? Die Infrastruktur macht einen neuen Eindruck, die Stra\u00dfen sind frisch gepflastert und offenbar wurde im Zuge der Arbeiten auch die Kanalisation eingebaut. Das letzte Viertel der alten H\u00e4user ist wohl dem fortschreitenden Verfall preisgegeben. Einwohner treffen wir nur sehr wenige.<\/p>\n<p>Unsere erste portugiesische Nacht verbringen wir gemeinsam mit d\u00e4nischen, holl\u00e4ndischen, portugiesischen und franz\u00f6sischen Campern auf einem ruhigen Parkplatz in <strong>Geres<\/strong>. Gleich drei Churrasquerias buhlen mit dem verf\u00fchrerischen Duft nach frisch verbranntem Fleisch um ihre G\u00e4ste. Wir lassen uns gern \u00fcberrumpeln und bekommen f\u00fcr gerademal 20 Euro gro\u00dfe und appetitliche Portionen vom Grill , Bier und Wein.<\/p>\n<p>Am n\u00e4chsten Vormittag kurven wir durch einen wahren Zauberwald ins tief liegende Tal. Hier gilt striktes Halteverbot, in der Saison wird gar die Fahrzeit zwischen zwei Kontrollpunkten festgelegt. Nach einem kurzen Tankstopp in Spanien geht es weiter durch den portugiesischen Nationalpark. Talsperren, Bergd\u00f6rfer, romanische Br\u00fccken und Kirchen sowie weite Aussichten auf die Gebirge wechseln ab. In <strong>Castro Laboreiro<\/strong> freundet sich ein Hund der nach dem Ort benannten Rasse mit Torsten an &#8211; Frauchen ist da ganz anderer Meinung, der Hund trottet nach Hause.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Espigueiros<\/strong> werden die Maisspeicher aus unverw\u00fcstbarem Granit genannt, die im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert entstanden sind. Ihre Bauweise soll die Ernte sicher vor M\u00e4usen sch\u00fctzen. In manchen Orten stehen die Speicher der Kleinbauern an einem gemeinsamen Platz. In <strong>Soajo<\/strong> beeindrucken 27 Speicher, in <strong>Lindoso<\/strong> sind es gar 67. Wir verbringen eine ruhige Nacht auf dem Parkplatz des Castellos von ehemals nationaler milit\u00e4rischer Bedeutung.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wetter <\/strong><img
